The audio metronome plays a sound on each beat while you play a song, helping you keep time without needing to watch the screen. It works alongside the visual metronome — you can use either or both at the same time.
Like the visual metronome, the audio metronome requires a tempo to be specified in the song. If a time signature is also set, the first beat of each bar will play the accent sound while the remaining beats play the regular beat sound.
Enabling the audio metronome
The audio metronome is off by default. To turn it on, open the Metronome section of the settings pane and enable the Audio metronome toggle.
You can also toggle it on and off quickly using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + M, or by adding a hotkey button to the song player for one-tap access.
Configuring sounds and volume
In the Metronome settings section you can configure:
- Beat sound - the sound played on each regular beat
- Accent sound - the sound played on the first beat of each bar (only used when a time signature is set)
- Volume - how loud the metronome sounds are
Four sounds are available for both beat and accent: Classic Metronome, Clock Tick, Beep High, and Beep Low. You can preview each sound directly from the settings pane before committing to it.
