First launch: a tour of Chordle

Welcome to Chordle. This short series takes you from an empty library to your first set list in five steps. Start here with a tour of the app.

Chordle has three main areas, always one click away in the left-hand navigation:

  • Songs - your song library. Every song you add, import or create lives here, searchable and taggable.
  • Set Lists - your set lists. Collections of songs in playing order, each song with its own key and capo if needed.
  • Search - online song search. Find songs on supported sites and save them straight into your library.

The large central pane is the song player. It shows the current song with chords, and it stays alongside your library on wide windows so you can keep browsing while a song is open. See The Chordle user interface for the full tour and Playing songs for player controls.

At the end of the navigation section are:

  • The sync pane, where you can import songs and set lists, sync with the cloud, and manage your account.
  • The settings pane, where you can set your preferences for appearance, song presentation, and more.

Two things worth changing in settings early on:

  • Appearance - Chordle supports light and dark themes. Find them under General settings.
  • How songs are shown - fit-to-screen, scrolling or paged presentation, plus chord notation options, are covered in Song presentation modes.

That is enough orientation. Time to add some music.
